RACHEL CARPENTER
Company Manager

Rachel was born of a carpenter on a cold Christmas day in Alexandria, Louisiana. Though the family did not reside in Louisiana for long she still feels a strong connection to jambalaya, crawfish et’tufe’ and has a secret affection for the music of Buckwheat Zydeco (If you are not sure who he is I suggest you Google him). Rachel grew up on the stage as a dancer and actor performing in numerous shows and far too many 1990’s sequined dance competitions and recitals. Needless to say, her parents were always beaming with pride. Rachel went on to attend Eastern Michigan University as a theater performance major on scholarship. From Eastern Rachel returned to her home town of Grand Blanc, MI where she was the choreographer for Grand Blanc High School’s theater and choir departments. Rachel in her free time enjoys music, dancing, an occasional visit to the art museum, thought provoking plays, a walk through Lincoln Square on a fall day, movies that take place in Europe, a cob salad with house dressing from the
Daily and a really great bottle of red wine. Rachel is a recent addition to the city of Chicago and is excited to join and be part of Jackalope Theater Company’s 2012 season.
